BJP has not done anything for the hills: CM Mamata

Today, Chief Minister of the state and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamta Banerjee addressed a public meeting in Darjeeling’s Chowkbazar.

Apart from Trinamool Congress candidate Amar Singh Rai of Darjeeling Lok Sabha Center, representatives from different parts of the hills including Vinay Tamang were present in this public meeting.

In this meeting, Mamata Banerjee, targeting the BJP, said that after winning the election, their MPs did not appear at all in the hills. They did not do any work for the hills.

The Chief Minister said that the BJP does not want development on the hills. We are with the people staying in the hills. She said that within a span of every few months, I always visit the hills. We have achieved many things for the hills.

Taking a dig at BJP’s nominee Raju Bisht, Mamata Banerjee said that he has come from Manipur. After two days of campaigning, they will go back.

Apart from this, she said that Amar Singh Rai is the Bhumiputra of the hills and this is why he has been made the Trinamool Congress candidate.

As for the public meeting of BJP National President Amit Shah in Kalimpong, the Chief Minister said that he came to Kalimpong in a helicopter from Bagdogra and went back after the meeting, but does he know anything about Darjeeling?

Targeting Prime Minister Modi, she said that he has become a watchman after selling tea, but in fact he is a traitor watchman.
